A+ | Batam
– In a significant step toward enhancing traffic safety and public service, Jasa Raharja and the Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the Indonesian National Police conducted a Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) session for the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2024. Held on Monday (Dec. 9, 2024), at the Rupa Tama Hall of the Riau Islands Police Headquarters, the event aimed to solidify the synergy between the two institutions in enforcing traffic laws and addressing traffic accident management.

The event was attended by key stakeholders, including Brig. Gen. Raden Slamet Santoso, Head of Law Enforcement at Korlantas Polri; Dewi Aryani Suzana, Operational Director of Jasa Raharja; Hervanka Tri Dianto, Head of Service Division at Jasa Raharja; Senior Commissioner C.F. Hotman Sirait, Head of the Traffic Accident Subdivision; and other officials from Jasa Raharja’s Riau Islands branch and the Riau Islands Police Traffic Directorate. The session also featured virtual participation from Jasa Raharja branch heads and traffic police directors across Indonesia.

In her opening remarks, Dewi Aryani Suzana highlighted the importance of the Monev initiative in fostering collaboration and addressing challenges in traffic law enforcement and public service.

"This forum enables us to deepen mutual understanding of our respective roles and responsibilities, while identifying challenges that impede effective law enforcement and service delivery to the public," Dewi stated.

She emphasized that the robust partnership between Jasa Raharja and Korlantas Polri has yielded tangible benefits, including a decrease in traffic accidents and an improved response to accident victims.

"The solid cooperation we have established has led to encouraging outcomes, such as a reduction in traffic accidents and more efficient victim assistance," she added.

Data from Jasa Raharja up to November 2024 revealed a 1.37% decrease in the total compensation disbursed, alongside a 4.19% reduction in the number of traffic accident victims receiving compensation, amounting to 6,822 individuals. These statistics underscore the effectiveness of the collaborative efforts to promote road safety.

The Monev agenda included comprehensive discussions and presentations on traffic law enforcement, accident data analysis, and preventive measures to enhance road safety. Participants also explored strategies to improve public service, particularly optimizing the disbursement of compensation to accident victims.

"We hope the outcomes of this Monev session will be effectively implemented on the ground, contributing to improved traffic security, safety, order, and efficiency," Dewi concluded.

Following the Monev session, Dewi Aryani Suzana and Brig. Gen. Raden Slamet Santoso conducted a field briefing at the Jasa Raharja Riau Islands branch office. The briefing focused on strengthening technical coordination between Jasa Raharja and Korlantas teams in the region, ensuring the successful application of evaluation results in day-to-day operations.

The collaborative spirit displayed during this event reflects the unwavering commitment of both institutions to safeguarding lives and enhancing public service, paving the way for a safer and more accountable traffic management system in Indonesia.
